There are many ways in which individuals and institutions can get involved in the Fulbright Academy. Here are a few examples.
Host a Fulbright Forum or a Distinguished Alum Luncheon/Dinner
You are welcome to make a proposal for a Fulbright Forum. These are gatherings held in cities around the world, usually in partnership with a local business or college / university. We typically hold 6-8 Forums per year.
Our Affinity Groups will help you with the Forum. These are Fulbright scholars who share a common interest, such as Global health, Law & policy, Entrepreneurship, Young professionals, and CEOs in Higher Education. Or you can organize a multidisciplinary gathering of alumni in your community in conjunction with a visit by a talented non-local Fulbright alum.
Participate in an On-line Dialogue
We are planning a program of public dialogue meetings to enable members and other experts to meet and share ideas, experiences, hopes and concerns about these new technologies. The dialogues provide a valuable opportunity for Fulbrighters to share their knowledge and give back to the community. At the end of some programs, a report will be produced and used to advise government and other organisations policymaking.
Incorporate FAST into your work
Science is not a solitary task - it involves collaborations with many partners. The Fulbright Academy is collaborating with Fulbright scholars and our institutional members in many ways. We can link you up with others for short-term advice or long-term partnerships. In some cases, Academy staff are actively involved in the project management or serve as the fiscal agent.
Many researchers seek outside funding to support their work, funding from government agencies, foundations, even venture capitalists. The Academy has been included in project proposals, where we may serve as outside advisors, are intimately involved in the research, or work with you on promoting the results. Your proposal may be strengthened through an affiliation with the Fulbright Academy, and in return, the Academy has the opportunity to bring members together to work on projects.
Propose a Panel for an Upcoming Conference
Every day there are conferences which address topics of interest to members and the broader community. The organizers of these programs want presentations and panels containing bright ideas -- and bright ideas is one of the specialties of Fulbright alumni. Panels may be competitively selected for the quality of their science or perhaps for the potential for the program to be accessible, 'hands-on' and interactive. The Academy wants to work with members and others who are responding to calls for papers.
